A GUIDE TO FASHION STYLES
Fashion styles are a river topic. You can write a whole book about it, but sometimes you need to include something more easily digestible in your diet. That is why today I am giving you styles in a nutshell. So easy to swallow.
Choose or combine. Seek it to be compatible with you and reflect on your character. Change if you have such a whim. Have fun with it. Refine in detail.
STYLE, because we are talking about it, is the sum of all your life experiences, aesthetic preferences, and imaginations. Let's look together. Which one will attract your attention the most?
Below is a small guide to styles in fashion, and if you were curious about how to adapt your style to your personality, I would like to recommend this material.
1-Classic elegance
This style is beautiful in its simplicity and universality. It is characterized by minimalism in accessories, colors, and a rather subdued combination of textures and patterns. The style is associated with a white blouse, dark trousers with a crease, black high heels, pearls.Classic elegance is timeless and in the right edition, it is perfect for work, meeting friends, or even a stylish party. Costumes that can magically be timeless, you can use different over time, in a changed form, e.g. with other more modern accessories. Thanks to this, they gain their uniqueness. Timeless cuts, in the right style, never look funny even after many years.
However, all these things should be of the highest quality - good quality, simple, elegant, and noble at the same time. Choose fabrics such as jacquard, velour, silk, satin, or velvet. To make the whole outfit look classy, take action with shoes.
Recommended colors include black, red, gray, white, beige, ecru, navy blue, dark chocolate, violet. If you want to modernize and rejuvenate the classic image, you can look for interesting design solutions that fit the topic. Boldly break the convention with a more decisive line, a new way of seeing a woman's figure
You will like classic elegance when you like stabilization and you have your feet firmly on the ground, or maybe you feel like a lady above all.
A classic-style outfit is an excellent outfit for many occupations. Simple accessories and tasteful colors additionally create an impression of modernity, determination, and add character.
Casual - it is any and unofficial outfit, e.g. for a picnic or weekend, for a corporate team-building party, meeting at home with friends, it is such an everyday outfit. It could be a set of jeans plus a t-shirt. Casual items are casual and casual. Clothes in this style are comfortable and casual.
2-Vintage style
Vintage is a style that involves wearing things from a different era or stylized like that. It combines styles from different eras. Clothes from previous decades and older than 25 years are considered vintage. The word vintage itself comes from wine terminology. The vintage style is characterized by combining opposites, e.g. a dress from the 70s with modern jewelry or a dress stylized for a specific era with contemporary accessories.
Back to the past is the ability to combine the old with the new. To find something original you have to figure it out a bit. The reward for the painstaking search for pearls in mom's or grandma's wardrobe, in second-hand stores or specialized boutiques equipped with premium vintage clothing (often with amazing history from the first owners), can be a dazzling effect. The advantage of vintage styling is that you can be sure the rivet won't be dressed the same as you. Sometimes the value cannot be overestimated.
You will like the vintage style if you value tradition and have a slightly artistic, even avant-garde drive. The style is also suitable for people who know how to go crazy, value their individualism, and like to create reality.
3-Preppy style
It is a distinctive style that allows you to be up to date without chasing rapidly changing trends. Preppy is one of the American sport's classics. The style is inspired by the image of American university students (the so-called Ivy League), coming from higher classes and characterized by a high standard of living, a specific way of dressing, but also a way of behavior (mannerism).
The quintessence is comfortable clothes with a simple design, but of a higher quality. The style is popular with designers such as Ralph Lauren or Lacoste brands, and also among manufacturers of clothing for young people, such as Converse. Other brands whose collections are inspired by preppy include Lilly Pulitzer, Brooks Brothers, J. Press, J. Mclaughlin, and J. Crew.
Standard clothes are a polo shirt, a V-neck vest, a button-up sweater, a sports sweatshirt combined with a shirt blouse. Shirts, skirts, pants, and dresses refer to sports styles such as tennis, golf, squash, polo, fencing, and sailing. Combine casual items with more formal clothes (polo shirt plus vest, or dress plus cardigan).
Other elements are classic dark-colored jeans, cotton pants, the so-called chinos (straight legs, hidden pockets), leather belts (brown, black) or, for a more sporty version, belts made of linen and cotton, single-color jackets or the so-called tennis, ties and cocktail dresses, sneakers, ballerinas, sweaters with a V-neck, shorts, trench coat. The colors of the sets should be subdued. A combination of shades of blue, navy blue, and white seems to be ideal, also use red, cheerful shades of yellow or orange, pink and green. The safest pattern is stripes, dots, diamonds, and stripes or choosing smooth things.
The preppy style is also a delicate, natural make-up, short, neat nails in light shades, delicately, fresh perfume, classic jewelry in a minimalist edition (silver, gold, diamonds, pearls). Since the style requires simple hairstyles that do not cover the face, there is often a ribbon attached to the hair tied in a ponytail or a headband.
The preppy style can be your everyday favorite if you are a modest and polite person, you value tactfulness and good manners.
4-Boho
Boho appeared in 2004 when stylists began to mix hippie, surf and bohemian, vintage, and glamor styles together. Die-hard fans of the style include Sienna Miller, Kate Moss, the Olsen sisters, and Nicole Richie. In Poland, this is how Anna Maria Jopek is worn.
Bohemia, from which the boho style takes its name, is a term for an artistic bohemia. The controversial group, due to its avant-garde approach to art and moral freedom, was carried in a specific way. The boho style is very diverse as it comes from a mixture of cultures. It is characterized by three slogans: romanticism, freedom, freedom.
To dress in this style, equip your wardrobe with fur vests (although I recommend artificial ones), long skirts, embroidered tunics, large bags, cowboy boots, ethnic accessories (handmade beads and necklaces, thongs in large amounts), denim vests, wide belts, loose pants, and boots. Boho style clothes have folklore patterns, embroidery, floral motifs, lace or fur, and scarves that will also work well. The boho style has several variations, including boho-chic, boho-rock, and boho-tec (modern, futuristic).
Boho style is supposed to emphasize personality and individuality, so don't be afraid of experiments. However, it is definitely not suitable to be worn in the office, but it will work great at work where imagination and creativity count, in free professions. The boho atmosphere also appears on the catwalks. It was used by, among others D&G, Gucci, Karolina Herrera, Dries Van Notten, and chain stores. Popular brands inspired by this trend are - Zara, H&M, Promod, Mango, C&A, Tally Weil, Solar.
The boho style is loved for its rich design, juicy colors, and comfortable cuts. Thanks to it, you will give your image a hint of artistry and drama.
5-Glamor
Glamor is flash and glamor. It maintains a bit of a retro atmosphere, straight from old Hollywood movies. By dressing in this style, you can look a bit like the diva from the olden days. Effective flower-shaped brooches, pastel feminine dresses, velvet handbags, capes, long gloves, fancy shimmering necklaces, evening small purses, and clutches will be in a good tone. The colors associated with the style are gold, silver, powder pink, black, and white.
Glamor suits hit people who know what they want in life. If that's your style, then you probably like spectacular effects and big entrances.
6-Sports style
The main items of clothing are a polo shirt, top, cap, shorts, cotton trousers with wide legs. This is an option for active leisure, for a walk. But let's be serious: who looks good in fishermen? However, it is most associated with us as ideal for sports. Good, breathable, technical, and inventive sportswear can be found in specialist stores - jackets, windbreakers, leggings, costumes, sneakers, and much, much more.
A sports style is a style for people who value comfort and freedom of movement. If this is your everyday style, then you are probably optimistic and like when a lot is going on around you.
7-Sporty elegance
It is completely different from the sports style. A bit of an oxymoron, because how can elegance be sporty? However, this unprofessional term entered our colloquial speech and it stayed that way. Sporty elegance is a combination of classic and sporty style. It can be a set of jeans plus a shirt blouse or a linen pencil skirt with a vest and a T-shirt, classic trousers with a crease with a wide cuff, plus a sweater.
This style is extremely functional due to the possibilities of combinations and the opportunities to present it. Be it work, date, shopping, it will be great everywhere. There are no color restrictions here. Jeans, ballerinas, and a short white jacket with a Bebe collar? Here you are.
"Bebe" collar - girly, small, round collar found in jackets, coats, or blouses.
Sporty elegance is your style if you value comfort, but want to look stylish at the same time.
8-Military-style
Military-style is military uniform style clothes, epaulets, double-breasted fasteners, military colors, pencil skirt or cargo pants, heavy woolen sweaters with a thick weave, uniform cuts. Recommended colors are navy blue, gray, brown, black, bottle green, khaki, and beige.
Choose a military-style if you are a determined person or you want to give yourself confidence and authority.
9-Country style
The country is indispensably associated with jeans, comfortable high boots, there are light accessories such as pendants on a thong, accessories characteristic of the country style. The style is matched by checks - on shirts, dresses or accessories, flowers, leather belts, spacious bags and sweaters, comfortable tops.
There may be some lace, e.g. a skirt sticking out from underneath, a feather necklace, and a caramel handbag. Leather, suede, fringes, cowboy hats, wide pants, ponchos, scarves, and wide-top boots are also suitable for the country climate.
The country-style will appeal to you if you are an open and outgoing person.
10-Emo style
The style is characterized by skinny jeans, narrow t-shirts with the names of rock bands or with controversial prints, studded stripes (e.g. black and white checkerboard), long oblique fringe. The style also includes wristbands, fabric sneakers, black thick frames with glasses. Emo is an offer for teenagers! Well really ...
11-Hippie style
The hippie style is made of flowers and ethnic accessories. An exceptionally colorful, patterned style, enriched with a dizzying amount of ornaments and scarves, which at certain times experiences a real renaissance. Hippie-style outfits are mainly long dresses with floral or oriental patterns, with lots of flounces, fabulously colorful blouses and tunics for bell pants and high wedge shoes, and large patchwork bags on a long belt. The whole is complemented by a headband tied on the forehead or colorful beads, pendants.
In this way, at the turn of the 1960s and 1970s, the dress was a manifesto of separateness, views, and did not show differences in wealth or status. Most of all, however, he emphasized being himself.
Hippie is for you if you love ease and comfort, and you are a colorful bird in your soul.
Patchwork - is a sewing method that involves sewing together small pieces of fabric (with similar shapes, e.g. patchwork made of triangles) into a larger whole, thus creating a new pattern. This word also describes the work carried out with the technique described.
12-Safari-style
Classic, subdued, and without any special extravagance, it reigns on the catwalks in modified versions almost every year. Safe holiday uniforms are also useful in the big city jungle. Long pants and shorts with pockets and a belt are necessary. For the top, the best are vests and jacket-jacket variants.
The latter with or without a collar, with single or double-breasted fastening, with longer or shorter sleeves, with a belt and pockets covered with buckles. The classic of the safari-style is the shirt dress, practical and great for many occasions. Additionally, you can spice it up with large smoky glasses.
The colors characteristic of the style are: khaki, browns, white and warm beige, and transparent colors, and the most popular styles are a whole parade from elegant and feminine to comfortable and sporty. You can modernize it a bit by adding a drop of gray or yellow. The style is a bit associated with military jackets, African jewelry, and earth tones, and it fits at any age and evokes the sun.
It is a style that goes towards elegance, and its great advantage is that it is always in fashion. Materials such as linen, viscose, and cotton go hand in hand with style. In general, the styles of these clothes are quite simple - loose pants, tight tops, a pencil skirt or ankle-length skirt with slits, unbuttoned blouses.
Wooden, natural jewelry is standard, you can add our native amber - it will look really great. The bags are roomy, so you can prepare for summer loot sales or pack for the weekend.
Safari is a style associated with summer due to the dominant bright, natural colors and selection of materials. You will like it if you dream of a trip to Africa or if you like natural materials and colors in interior design - wood, brick, linen.
The ever-fashionable safari style is in tune every year. Bright colors beautifully illuminate the face, which, combined with a modest cut and ingenious finishes, adds stylish charm to everything.
13-Ethno style
Ethno means clothes that imitate costumes from distant countries in patterns and colors representative of these regions. Most often it is an intense color palette with vibrating patterns full of dynamism. Fabrics create a cocktail of species, seduce with a variety of forms, and allow you to warm up with the warmth of ethnic colors. Models that are obligatory for this type of style start with embroidered tunics and end with voluminous skirts. There is also a concept of combining fabrics with different textures. The whole is complemented by colorful caps, scarves, gloves, and decorated bags as well as details: sewn beads, applications, embroidery often made on patterned fabrics.
Ethno, apart from summer offers, is also suitable for winter and autumn. It also changes the traditional pattern of European clothing a bit. It shows that drawing ideas from seemingly distant places can be surprisingly creative.
The style will appeal to you if you admire an image full of mystery and exotic inspiration.
14-Folk
The style is inspired by folk costumes. Chiffon or cotton blouses with a small meadow, folk floral scarves can be easily combined with elegant pants, a smooth skirt, opaque tights, and sweaters. There is always something painterly in this fashion because of decorating fabrics. Folk does not have to be carded at all. Combine colorful folk motifs, crinoline skirts, and embroidered blouses with modern and simple items, such as jeans or patent leather high-heels. However, if you dress in folk from head to toe, you will look disguised.
Folk is your style if you like to color your costumes with folk elements and you can appreciate the cultural heritage of various regions
15-Street fashion
Street fashion is a fashion trend in which people can dress in completely different ways and in different styles. The most important thing is individualism and originality as well as fantasy in composing. Emphasize your uniqueness by choosing unique accessories and combining styles. Poland has its Fashion Street, where hand-made handbags, colored rings, and striped sweatshirts are presented. This style is most characterized by the word "diversity". Everyone who goes "out into the street" and puts on any outfit they want, joins the trend, but it is important to compose it consciously.
There are many street fashion blogs on the Internet. In street fashion, there are protests against current trends in favor of personal accessories (preferably made by hand). Street fashion, thanks to its wealth of ideas, is often ahead of global trends. Many people say that it is not only a fashion, but an expression of your personality through clothes, but you can also say that about any style, any styling.
The difference is that people who are interested in street fashion often create their own clothes and really wear them every day. It is definitely a style for discussion and creativity, which is why it is passionate about so many people in the world. Since many people do not know how to take care of their own style, how can they create "good" fashion? Street fashion is supposed to inspire others, it is about activating and having fun.
If this is your style, then you should definitely stand out in the crowd - with a multitude of accessories, unusual combinations of styles, fabrics and colors. Great style if you like to be in the spotlight, get attention.
16-City style
Do not equate fashion street and city style. The city-style is elegant and sporty and suitable for the city and for work, but you can compose your wardrobe in popular chain stores, without focusing on individualism and your own workmanship.
City style is a great style if you are driven from morning to night and you need to look good and neat all the time.
